It seems like there are more amazing greeting cards out there than ever before (a big thanks to Instagram filling our feeds with beautiful cards). Which is something to get excited about. Yet amid all the cards out there (because trust us, there are a lot), we’ve managed to scout out a few good brands who are not only dedicated to producing quality greeting cards, but choose to give back to a variety of different causes. We’ve compiled a list of greeting card lines that give back to a variety of causes, from the environment to education. so your next greeting card purchase can be one that matters.
We figured we’d start with ourselves because we’re all about #artwithpurpose! Each one of our cards features artwork by a young emerging artist, and with each purchase we give a portion of the sale back to the artist’s education fund. In addition, our cards are printed on paper made from the waste by-products of textile manufacturing and include a 100%-recycled paper envelope, so you can feel good about both supporting young artists and saving the environment.

Ever thought about planting a greeting card? We didn’t either, until we heard of Lovewild. Made on handmade paper embedded with seeds, when planted in soil after being sent and used, their cards will sprout wildflowers. Cool!

Not only are Paper Culture’s cards made from post-consumer waste and wood alternatives, the company will plant a tree for every order. Imagine if every company who makes products from trees had this same commitment: it’d be a much greener world indeed.

Oblation sources paper created from materials recovered from the garment industry. They also use soy inks, citrus solvents, and antique presses, because a) they care about the environment, and b) they’re that fancy. [heart eyes] Check out Oblation here.
If Slightly didn’t have you at their Instagram bio (“cards for people you actually like”), their cause will: each purchase supports education initiatives for girls around the world, and a portion of all proceeds is donated to help all children receive an education. They’re also all about women supporting women, which we’re all about, too (since we are, in fact, an all-women team).
