FROM THE ARTIST: Hanging Stars was inspired by a poem my mother wrote about stars hanging in the sky. I hear things and connect them literally, so the way I visualized her poem was to have stars hanging on nooses. I chose the reds and fire colors for the stars to match their expressions.
