FROM THE ARTIST: I was inspired to paint Windy as I was in the living room, looking up at the ceiling fan. I loved the shapes in the fan and imagined the fan blades as a woman’s hair whipping around. I opted for a black background as I wanted the body to stand out. This is a piece where you can really see the color blocking style starting to take form, especially in the torso and chest.
