6 Brands We’re Digging That Are Run By Siblings

The Jackson 5. Venus and Serena Williams. The Wright Brothers. Let’s face it: when siblings choose to work together, iconic things can happen.
That’s especially true when it comes to business and brands. From locally-owned small businesses to some of the biggest companies out there, magic happens when business becomes a family affair. In that spirit, we’ve made a list of a few of our favorite, totally awesome brands that just so happen to be ran by siblings.

Denise Troy and Karen Piane, Wunderkid (pictured above)
Okay, so maybe we’re a bit biased. But Denise Troy and Karen Piane are our idea of a dream team. They keep things upbeat while keeping the company growing…and a dance party or round of HQ after a hard day of work is never completely out of the question.

Rachael and Elena Baxter, Conscious Magazine
Sisters Rachael and Elena founded Conscious after realizing there were no media outlets in which honesty, authenticity, and quality storytelling were prioritized. The result: a wildly-popular digital and print magazine which millennials are flocking to for stories on social entrepreneurship, global initiatives, and conscious culture.

Caroline & Jake Danehy, Fair Harbor
We were going to dedicate this post solely to sisters…until we learned more about Fair Harbor. Siblings Caroline and Jake Danehy founded Fair Harbor, a social good swimwear brand featuring chic suits made out of recycled plastic several years ago, and we’re big fans.

Arum, Dawoon, and Soo Kang, Coffee Meets Bagel
These sisters redefine the word powerhouse: after turning down a $30-million offer from Mark Cuban on Shark Tank, they’ve built their dating app Coffee Meets Bagel (a much more mature and nuanced version of apps like Tinder) into a household name among millennials.

Sasha Plavsic & Zachary Ilia, ILIA Beauty
Sasha created the green beauty brand and was joined by brother Zachary in 2013. Which seemed only natural, since their mother had sought out greener, homeopathic remedies to help Zachary cope with acute allergies and asthma as a child. And with their minimalistic packaging and gorgeous hues with 80’s-pop-inspired shade names like 99 Red Balloons and Hold Me Now, we’re falling more in love with their products every day.

Danielle Snyder and Jodie Snyder-Morel, Dannijo
Launched by sisters Danielle Snyder and Jodie Snyder-Morel ten years ago, the brand that started as a capsule jewelry collection has expanded into everything from iPhone cases to clothing. Not to mention the string of famous customers the band’s garnered over the years, including Beyonce and Rihanna.
